You’ve heard that saying…when one door closes another door opens. Well I am all for that – especially when those doors happen to be GORGEOUS!
But let’s talk about the elephant in the room for a second, shall we?
There are two things you need to know:
I am ok – actually more than ok. I am good!
And I am here for you.
Take a moment and just absorb…ok, let’s talk.
Some 4 years ago my hair stylist and friend Fady approached me with an opportunity to start a business with him. The time was right for me – in so many ways and in particular for the idea that I had. This idea of providing specialized services at a high level of skill had been growing and percolating in my head for quite some time – it was ready to be born! Inviting me to be his business partner changed the course of my life and for that I am truly grateful to Fady. I count myself fortunate to have had the chance to learn from him and build a business that has grown into an entity I am proud of.
What an amazing ride it has been. The simple truth? The time has come to grow in a new direction.
I have been in the business of learning for the last 3 or so years. And wow, I have learned so, so much. I have been privileged to meet and work alongside some amazing people. Today we talk about the idea that you can grow, achieve success, and then let it go to move on. Knowing that not only is it ok, but it is good thing. I can move forward now and focus on what is ahead of me, not what lies behind me. Because in that I find energy, passion and excitement. And a creative energy that has wings.
I want you to know this because anyone can do this, including you. Has it been a long road? Of course – hello! Did I expect it to take this course – hell no! But I am here, and without wanting to be cliché, I am thankful. I worked hard and it paid off. Now it’s time to turn down a new road and truly try to take the lessons and the revelations that have come out of this experience with me – to guide me to a fuller expression of me. It’s all about the lessons people – you just have to listen. And drink wine.
But, I have a confession. I am an addict. I am addicted to my clients. You are my crack. More than just a creative outlet, it is connecting with you that truly grounds me. Our moments together are so real. It is a privilege and an honour to be with you. Fortunately, I don’t have to go cold turkey and give you up! But part of this journey will be finding the balance between serving you and caring for myself. I hope you come along, I’d love you to be here with me. Between us we will stir up some trouble (always), come to know ourselves a little better and continue along the path to where we want to be.
I’ve got so many stories to share with you (no kidding), but let’s just leave it at this with this – every ending has a beginning. In fact being at the crossroads of ending and beginning is one of the best places to be. Why? Because the potential is limitless.
So that’s where I am now – at the beginning, reaching out to open that next door.
