Fall into Winter with Great Skin

With back to school and summer fading away from us, it’s a great time to get back to your skin basics routine. Over the next couple of posts I’m going to help you get re-organized and recommend some ideas to get you on track with radiant and hydrated skin for fall and winter. So stay tuned!

My approach? Keep it simple and easy. We all have way too much on the go and more than enough to do, and let’s face it, it’s hard to know what is right for your skin when there is so much product variety and information out there. So, when it comes to skin care, let me be your guide. Using my knowledge, expertise, and performance products from Alumier MD, let’s take the guessing out of what you need so that you can get on with all of the other things that life is throwing at you.

Let’s get back to the basics:

Cleanse

If it’s time to replenish your cleanser and you have a tendency towards dryness in the winter, then this is the perfect time to start using a creamy cleanser. Alumier MD has two options: SensiCalm and HydraBoost Cream Cleansers. My current favourite is SensiCalm with its gentle soothing properties.

Here’s a hint: Always remove cream cleansers using a facecloth – that way there is no residue left on your face.

Exfoliate
Almost everyone would agree to getting a facial – can’t say that I blame you! If you have issues with your skin that need correction, then getting regular facials is the right approach. My philosophy is that skin care, like exercise, has to be done regularly to get results. So a one-off facial might feel great and you might look great, but the results are only going to last for a few days. My recommendation is that you invest in a product that you can work with regularly to get results … and keep them! My suggestion: for less than the cost of one facial, invest in the Alumier MD Enzymatic Peel. Don’t worry, there’s no peeling! Just radiant results from active ingredients like 10% lactic acid and fruit enzymes.

Here’s a hint:  Make it part of your weekly routine – when you are doing laundry or making coffee. Put the mask on first, it only needs 5 minutes, then load up the laundry or drink that coffee and look good doing it!

Hydrate
Alumier MD really has made hydration easy for you. With a powerful moisturizer for each unique skin type, hydration comes in a simple twist and pump vacuum format so you don’t have to worry about how much to use (1-2 pumps is all you need), and you get every last drop – love it!

These moisturizers are intended for use in the PM, but you may find yourself wanting to use them in the morning as well. That’s ok…as long as you finish with an SPF.  By sheltering your skin from harmful UV rays, you are protecting your skin’s health, while also preventing the #1 cause of skin aging. (More to come later on SPF protection: why, how and what – and as always I will make it easy for you).

The science-based, high performing ingredients in these Alumier MD moisturizers are too numerous to mention, so click on yours (below) and see the dynamic formulation that makes these moisturizers so special.

HydraDew for Normal to Dry and HydraLight for Normal to Oily skin, are two hero products.  Hydration is packed with powerhouse peptides and antioxidants.  I love what HydraDew has done for my skin.

HydraCalm for Sensitive / Redness Prone skin has been getting rave reviews and results with you and I am so happy to finally find a product that addresses this skin type.  Rich and restorative hydration is combined with natural ingredients and antioxidants.

HydraSmooth for Acne Prone skin takes a multi-faceted approach to clear, treat and calm acne with an innovative encapsulated salicylic acid technology that controls even delivery into the skin.

Here’s a Hint:  Always apply product with just the tips of your fingers onto slightly damp skin. The product will travel and absorb better into your face, not your hands!
